Why Your Cold Emails Get Ignored and How to Fix Them
Most cold emails fail for a handful of avoidable reasons. Fix these before you send more.
1. Wrong person, wrong mailbox
Emails to generic info@ or support@ inboxes are read by gatekeepers. Target named decision-makers.
2. A negative or self-centred opener
Leading with your company or the reader’s flaws invites deletion. Open with something relevant and specific to them.
3. No clear, low-friction ask
Asking for a 30-minute call from a stranger is heavy. Offer something easy to say yes to, such as a short useful note.
4. Too much volume too fast
Sending hundreds from a new domain damages deliverability, and later emails land in spam. Warm up and keep volumes controlled.
5. No follow-up
Most replies come after the second or third touch. Plan a short, spaced sequence with a different angle each time.
